Love Shore
 [ kaatibimin setresi uzun ete'i chamur ]  [ x2 ]
[in Turkish]
On the way to Uskudar, rain started to pour [x2]
My clerk's coat was long, and its hem became muddied [x2]
 [ both lines x2 ]
You were my love shore, beloved
my love shore
[both lines x2]
By seeing you, I was alive
You, the sight of my eyes
In my whole loneliness, love, you were a relief
 [ both lines x2 ]
You were my love shore, beloved
my love shore
[both lines x2]
I got lost in your words,
then, I became just like you
I fell asleep covered in a dream of you
Who knows what I am gaining, by losing myself
 [ both lines x2 ]
You were my love shore, beloved
my love shore
[both lines x2]
These relationships are like weak strings
Just as pinions show, birds fly away
Why do these moments come to the life?
Therefore, did you think you won, or lost?
 [ both lines x2 ]
You were my love shore, beloved
my love shore
[both lines x2]
By seeing you, I was alive
You, the sight of my eyes
In my whole loneliness, love, you were a relief
How often I lay down awake, within (your) love
Smiling, I cried, within (your) love
Now, I have came to be lost, , within (your) love

ishq kinaaraa (Hindi: इश्क़ किनारा, Urdu: عِشْق کِنارہ) is a song featured in 2013 at session 2 of the popular Pakistani musical TV show Coke Studio.

The song is inspired in a traditional Turkish folk song called Kâtibim.

The song is very famous. it is said that every Turkish-speaking person knows it.

It is also typically accompanied by a traditional string instrument called "oud". And an oud player accompanies the singers in the video clip.

In the song's lyrics, a woman describes how the rain muddies the neat clothes of her clerk (the word "kaatip" means "clerk, scribe'), while they are travelling to the town of Üsküdar near modern-day Istanbul.

Later lines of the original Turkish song also reveal the clerk as her love interest, probably defying social conventions of the time.

A Turkish singer called Sumru Ağıryürüyen sings some opening and closing lines in that language.

The rest of the song is in Hindustani language, where the words ishq kinaaraaa ("Love Shore" or "Shore of Love") are used, probably just for alliteration with Üs-küdar'a.

The Urdu singer was Zoe Viccaji.
