ye duniyaa agar mil bhii
Touch on each word to display its meaning
Even if One Gains This World
…
ye meHloN , ye taxtoN , ye taajoN kii duniyaa
ye insaan ke dushman samaajoN kii duniyaa
[ both lines x2 ]
ye daulat ke bhuukhe ravaajoN kii duniyaa
ye duniyaa agar mil bhii jaae to kyaa hai
[ both lines x2 ]
…
This world of palaces, thrones, and crowns
This community of enemies of mankind
[both lines x2]
This world of mores of thirst for wealth
Even if you gain this world, what of it?
[both lines x2]
har ik jism ghaayal , har ik ruuH pyaasii
nigaahoN meN uljhan , diloN meN udaasii
ye duniyaa hai yaa aalam-e-badeHvaasii
ye duniyaa agar mil bhii jaae to kyaa hai [ x2 ]
Each and every body stricken, each and every soul thirsty
Confusion in the glances, despondency in the hearts
Is this a world or a "world of confusion"?
Even if you gain this world, what of it? [x2]
yahaaN ik khilaunaa hai insaan kii hastii
ye bastii hai murdaa-parstoN kii bastii
yahaaN par to jiivan se hai maut sastii
ye duniyaa agar mil bhii jaae to kyaa hai [ x2 ]
Here, man's existence is a plaything,
it is a settlement of worshipers of the dead.
Because over here, death is cheaper than life.
Even if you gain this world, what of it? [x2]
javaanii bhaTktii hai bad-kaar ban kar
javaan jism sajte haiN baazaar ban kar
yahaaN pyaar hotaa hai byopaar ban kar
ye duniyaa agar mil bhii jaae to kyaa hai [ x2 ]
Youth becomes wicked and goes astray,
young bodies become a bazaar, embellished.
Here, love has been turned into a trade.
Even if you gain this world, what of it? [x2]
ye duniyaa jahaaN aadmii kuchh nahiiN hai
vafaa kuchh nahiiN , dostii kuchh nahiiN hai
[ both lines x2 ]
jahaaN pyaar kii qadr hii kuchh nahiiN hai
ye duniyaa agar mil bhii jaae to kyaa hai [ x2 ]
This world where man is nothing
Faithfulness is nothing, friendship is nothing
[both lines x2]
Where love's worth itself is nothing
Even if you gain this world, what of it? [x2]
jalaa do ise phuuNk Daalo ye duniyaa
jalaa do , jalaa do , jalaa do
jalaa do ise phuuNk Daalo ye duniyaa
mere saamne se haTaa lo ye duniyaa
tumhaarii hai tum hii sambhaalii ye duniyaa
ye duniyaa agar mil bhii jaae to kyaa hai
…
Torch it, set this world on fire,
Torch, torch it, torch it!
Torch it, set this world on fire,
remove this world from my sight (in front of me)!
This world is yours only, you fix it!
Even if you gain this world, what of it? [x2]

ye duniyaa agar mil bhii (Hindi: यह दुनिया अगर मिल भी, Urdu: یہ دُنیا اگر مِل بھی) "Even if You Gain/Meet/Conform to This World", is a song featured in the 1957 Bollywood film Pyaasa.
The song's lyrics, written by Sahir Ludhianvi, are a plea and a renunciation against the materialistic character of the world.
In the movie, the song is played when the protagonist, a struggling poet called Vijay (Guru Dutt), breaks into an auditorium where the antagonist, the evil Mr. Ghosh (played by Rehman) is trying to take advantage of his poems.
The other protagonist, Gulabo (Waheeda Rehman), a kind-hearted prostitute who helps Vijay, is also in the audience.
As people start noticing Vijay, and recognizing him as the author of the poem, the poem gets more dramatic ("Burn the world, torch it!") and Mr. Ghosh, trying to conceal his embarrassment, has Vijay forcibly removed from the auditorium.
The music of this song, along with the others in the film, was composed by S.D. Burman.
The playback singer was Mohammed Rafi.
