har   dil   maiN   armaan   hote   to   haiN   [ x2 ]
bas   koii   samjhe   zaraa
Every single bit, up to the smallest thing
is like filled by light
[both lines x2]
There are desires in every heart [x2]
Would someone please understand!
dil   pe   ek   nayaa   saa   nashaa   chhaa   gayaa
kho   rahaa   thaa   jo   xaab   vo   lauT   aa   gayaa
ye   jo   eHsaas   hai   jo   qaraar   hai

There is like a new ecstasy that has pervaded (my) heart
The dream that was lost, has come back
This which was a feeling, which calm:
is this the very thing whose name is love?
[both lines x2]
(My) heart, having stopped, asks, please:
tinkaa-tinkaa   zaraa-zaraa
hai   raushnii   se   jaise   bharaa
har   dil   maiN   armaan   hote   to   haiN   [ x2 ]
bas   koii   samjhe   zaraa
tinkaa-tinkaa  …  [ x2 ]
Every single bit, up to the smallest thing
Seems to be filled with light
There are desires in every heart [x2]
Would someone please understand!
Every single bit … [x2]
