For you
tere liye ,
ham haiN jie ,
hoNThoN ko sie
For you,
I have lived
lips sewn.
tere liye ,
ham haiN jie ,
har aaNsuu pie
For you
I have lived
all tears swallowed.
dil meN magar ,
jalte rahe ,
chaahat ke diye
tere liye , tere liye …
In the hearth, however,
continue burning
the lamps of desire
for you, for you …
tere liye ,
ham haiN jie ,
har aaNsuu pie
tere liye ,
ham haiN jie ,
hoNThoN ko sie
For you
I have lived
all tears swallowed.
For you,
I have lived
lips sewn.
dil meN magar ,
jalte rahe ,

tere liye , tere liye …
In the hearth, however,
continue burning
the lamps of desire
for you, for you …
zindagii , le ke aaii hai
biite dinoN kii kitaab [ x2 ]
ghere haiN , ab hameN
yaadeN be-Hisaab
Life has brought with it
the chronicle of days past [x2]
Countless memories
have surrounded us now
bin puuchhe , mile mujhe
kitne saare javaab !
chaahaa thaa kyaa , paayaa hai kyaa
ham ne dekhiye
Without asking, I received
so many answers!
Look at what I had desired
and what I have received.
dil meN magar ,
jalte rahe ,
chaahat ke diye
tere liye , tere liye …
In the hearth, however,
continue burning
the lamps of desire
for you, for you …
kyaa kahuuN ?
duniyaa ne kiyaa
mujh se kaisaa bair ? [ x2 ]
Hukum thaa
maiN jiuuN
lekin tere baGair
What (can) I say?
What kind of malice
the world bore to me? [x2]
There was a command
for me to live,
but without you.
naadaaN haiN vo , kɛhte haiN jo
mere liye tum ho Gair .
kitne sitam , ham pe , sanam ,
logoN ne kie !
How ignorant are, those who say
that you are a stranger to me.
How many injustices, beloved,
people did on us!
dil meN magar ,
jalte rahe ,
chaahat ke diye
tere liye , tere liye …
In the hearth, however,
continue burning
the lamps of desire
for you, for you …
tere liye ,
ham haiN jie ,
hoNThoN ko sie
tere liye ,
ham haiN jie ,
har aaNsuu pie
For you,
I have lived
lips sewn.
For you
I have lived
all tears swallowed.
dil meN magar ,
jalte rahe ,
chaahat ke diye
tere liye , tere liye … [ x3 ]
In the hearth, however,
continue burning
the lamps of desire
for you, for you … [x2]
