About this song

Singers
Shafqat Amanat Ali Khan, Fuzön

moraa saiyaaN mose bole naa (Hindi: मोरा सैयाँ मोसे बोले ना, Urdu: مورا سَیّاں موسے بولے نَہ) "My Beloved doesn't Speak to Me" is a song by the Pakistani band Fuzön. It was featured on their debut album "Saagar," released in January 2002.

The song is also known simply as "Mora Saiyaan" ("My Beloved"), or "Khamaaj" (a genre of "raga" or Hindustani musical pattern used as inspiration for the music).

A video clip was produced for the release of this song. Directed by Saqib Malik and starring Pakistani actor Shaan Shahid, it won the Best Video Award at the Lux Style Awards in 2004. The video, shot mostly in black and white, was inspired by Guru Dutt's romantic drama film "Kaagaz Ke Phool" and was the most expensive music video made in Pakistan at that time. The video story depicts a mature actress remembering the start of her career and how she falls in love with her movie director (Shahid), who grows fond of her but is not communicative (hence the title of the song). The fictional movie she stars in her debut is also named "Khamaaj".

The video clip shows the band Fuzön performing the song while the story takes place. The singer is the band's vocalist (Shafqat Amanat Ali), and the music was composed by the keyboardist (Imran Momina).

"Mora Saiyaan" was also featured in the Indian drama film "Hyderabad Blues 2" directed by Nagesh Kukunoor.
