The song's lyrics were written by Anand Bakshi, and the music was composed by Uttam Singh.
The background singers are Lata Mangeshkar and Udit Narayan.
The word Dholnaa means a small pendant or jewelled amulet, in the form or a drum or a miniature copy of the Quran. Figuratively, it is also used to refer to someone beloved.
