The song, which is inspired by a classical Kedar raga, was written by Raja Mehdi Ali Khan , and composed by O.P. Nayyar.
In the movie, the song is picturized by Ajay, a secret agent in Kashmir (played by Joy Mukherjee), and Asha, a local girl from a poor family (played by Sadhana), with whom Ajay falls in love.
