The song's lyrics were composed by the Indian singer and composed Vishal Dadlani, and the music was composed by the duo he is part of: Vishal–Shekhar.
The singer is the prominent Indian playback singer Krishnakumar Kunnath (also known as "KK").
The main characters of the movie are Om Kapoor, or "OK", (played by Shah Rukh Khan), and Sandy (Deepika Padukone).
The video clip describes how the two characters first had met in a previous life, and then the song is re-played when they meet again in the present.
