shaitaan kaa saalaa, or Bala, Shaitan Ka Sala (Hindi: शैतान का साला, Urdu: شَیطان کا سالا), "Bala, Brother-in-Law of the Devil", or "Buddy of the Devil", is a song from the 2019 Indian comedy film "Housefull 4"

The video clip shows Bala, a reckless medieval Rajput king (played by Akshay Kumar), gaudily dancing, carousing, and singing praises to himself, surrounded by a troupe of all-blonde dancers.

In the movie, Bala reincarnates into a modern-day barber called Harry, and, along with his brothers, also reincarnated, they are condemned to repeat the same toils of their previous reincarnations by marrying the wrong women.

saalaa is a common Hindustani word meaning brother-in-law.

It is also used as a mildly insulting way to address a man (because it implies that one is in a relationship with the man's sister). In a context of confidence, it might mean "friend" or "buddy".

It can also be used as an interjection (as it is in the song), to express mild surprise or disappointment: darn!

Many idiomatic expressions are used in the song, for example:

beTii, mausii, xaalaa beTii "daughter", and mausii, xaalaa, 2 other words meaning "maternal aunt", is used to indicate "all women in the family"

kisii kaa muNh kaalaa karnaa "to blacken someone's face", meaning tarnishing someone, damaging his reputation

Patiala peg A "peg" or drinking measure of whiskey or liquor, traditionally named after that city in Punjab.

The lyrics were written by the Indian writer Farhad Samji, a member of the director/writer duo Sajid-Farhad.

The music was composed by the Indian director and musician Sohail Sen, and the playback singer was Vishal Dadlani from the composer duo Vishal-Shekhar.
