qurbaan huaa (Hindi: क़ुर्बान हुआ, Urdu: قربان ہوا) "Sacrificed" is a song released as part of the soundtrack of the 2009 Bollywood movie "Kurbaan". Notice that in both the names of the film and the song, the spelling of the word qurbaan (sacrifice) is done with a "k", a very usual simplification in Hindi and its Latin transcriptions.
The movie is about Avantika, a university professor (Kareena Kapoor) who falls in love with her colleague Ehsaan (Saif Ali Khan), only to discover later that he is an undercover terrorist. The song describes how she is torn between this realization and the love she still feels for him.
The song's lyrics were written by Niranjan Iyengar, and the music was composed by the duo Salim-Sulaiman. In the movie, the singer is Vishal Dadlani.
Sony Music India also released a video clip starring Saif Ali Khan to promote the song independently. In more recent times the singer Melissa Srivastava released her own, soulful interpretation in social networks, which in my opinion is better than the original (putting aside her lacking Urdu pronunciation).
