le jaa le jaa re
le jaa le jaa re
Touch on each word to display its meaning
Take, Take!
Take, oh, take!
Ah, take!
Oh, young girl, young girl
 [ all stanza x2 ]
Take, oh, take, in the fragrant night,
steal all colors and take them away
In (your) company, I am drenched every night
Encounter me in such a way!
[all stanza x2]
Oh, young girl, my heart is vexed
What to do with such a fair color
When the beloved is not charmed

Oh, young girl, the heart is vexed
What to do with such a vexed heart?
Such a fair body
doesn't please the beloved, what to do?
Take, take!
Steal all colors and take them away
In (your) company, I am drenched evert night
Encounter me in such a way!
Take, take!
Take, oh, take!
I want you to come closer
having looked for some excuse
I accepted you as my own,
whether this displeases society or not,
whether the world hits me with taunts or not,
I have to get you
Oh, young girl, of all nights
there has to be a story
(so that) either the night's stars stay awake
or the devotee does.

Oh, dear girl, ah!
Oh, dear girl,
some talks happen at night
which keep awake either the devotee
or keeps the starts awake at nights
Take, take, in the fragrant night
Steal all colors and take them away
I am drenched every night …

le jaa le jaa re (Hindi: ले जा ले जा, Urdu: لے جا لے جا) "Oh, take (me)!" is a song released in 2006 as part of the collaborative album Ustad and the Divas, a project that brought together legendary sarangi player Ustad Sultan Khan with prominent female vocalists from the Indian music industry.

In this song, the female vocals are provided by the acclaimed Shreya Ghoshal, the music is composed by Sandesh Shandilya, and the lyrics are written by poet Irshad Kamil.

The music video and cinematic associated with this song tell a parallel story to the lyrics: about a dancer (Nina Sarkar) working in an exploitative work environment, and a young programmer (Varun Toorkey) working office hours. Both, without knowing each other personally, begin a peculiar communication through graffiti that they draw on the advertisements of a bus stop that they both use (at different times) during the downpours. Illustrations of raindrops and abstract figures become their secret language, culminating in a chance meeting under a shared umbrella.

Musically, the song fuses:

Ustad Sultan Khan's Rajasthani folk (evident in the alaaps and use of the sarangi) Shandilya's contemporary arrangements Ghoshal's crystalline vocals

Becoming a cult hit in the late 2000s, the song enjoyed a revival in 2018 with a cover performed by Dhvani Bhanushali, though the original production remains the most celebrated for its emotional authenticity.
