huR huR dabaNg (Hindi: हुड हुड दबंग, Urdu: ھڈ ھڈ دبنگ), is a song from the 2010 Hindi action film Dabangg.
“Dabangg” is a Hindustani word meaning “courageous, bold, dauntless”. It is not written with a double “g” in Hindi.
This first “Dabangg” movie is part of a series describing the adventures of Chulbul Pandey, a police officer of almost supernatural strength and fighting skills from the small village of Lalganj in northern India (played by the Indian actor Salman Khan). In the sequel, he moves to the city of Kanpur, also in Uttar Pradesh, northern India.
The word “hud, hud” heard repeatedly in the song is a shortened spelling of the Hindi word hūṛ, which is normally used pejoratively to say that someone is senseless, too headstrong, or a simpleton; but it can also have the positive meaning of "impetuous", "forward", etc. Aside from that, the language of this song uses many nonstandard verb forms and pronunciations.
The song was interpreted by Sukhwinder Singh, a well-known Indian playback singer, and it was composed by the Indian singer and composer Wajid Ali.
