geruaa (Hindi: गेरुआ, Urdu: گیروا) “Saffron” “Saffron-Colored”, is a song played in the 2015 Indian film ‘Dilwale”.
The video clip shows the 2 movie protagonists, Raj (Shah Rukh Khan), and Meera (Kajol), both heirs of rival crime families, during one of their many reconciliations, with the background of heavy color-filtered, paradisiacal landscapes.
The color saffron, geruaa in Hindustani, has great significance in the Indian subcontinent.
Also called kesarii, it is part of the Indian flag, meaning courage and abnegation.
It is also worn by priests, yogis and mystics of many Asian religions, including Buddhism, HInduism, and Muslim Sufism.
