Jaane Walo Zara (Hindi: जानेवालो ज़रा, Urdu: جانے والو ذرا) “Passersby, Please!”, is a song from the 1956 Hindi drama film “Dosti” (Friendship).
The full name of the song is probably Jaanevalo Zara Mudke Dekho Mujhe, meaning: Passersby, just/please turn and look at me!

The movie tells the story of 2 friends, Ramu and Mohan (played by the Indian actors Sushil Kumar/Belani and Sudhir Kumar/Sawant). When they meet, they are both destitute: Ramu is crippled and Mohan is blind. They decide to join forces and perform on the street, because Ramu is good at playing the harmonica and Mohan is a good singer.

The video clip is the part of the movie where they interpret this moving song, while appealing to the passersby to recognize them as fellow human beings.

The playback singer giving voice to Mohan is the enormously famous singer and musician Mohammed Rafi, born I times of the British Raj and one of the glories of Indian cinema.

The lyrics were written by the Urdu poet and songwriter Majrooh Sultanpuri (né Asrar ul Hassan Khan), also born in times of British India in Sultanapur (in modern-day Uttar Pradesh, India).

The lyrics were written by the prolific composer duo Laxmikant–Pyarelal (Laxmikant Shantaram Kudalkar and Pyarelal Ramprasad Sharma); both were born in the times of British India and composed music for 750 movies.during their joint career .

There is a loving analysis of this song in the Hindi Language blog of Transparent Language.
