Behti Hawa Sa Tha Woh

bahtī havā  thā vah
He was like a cool breeze
00 :19
bahtī havā  thā vah
uṛtī pataṁg  thā vah
kahām̐ gayā, usē ḍhūm̐ḍhō!
He was like a cool breeze
He was like a flying kite
Wherever he went, search for him!
01 :19
bahtī havā  thā vah
uṛtī pataṁg  thā vah
kahām̐ gayā, usē ḍhūm̐ḍhō!
He was like a cool breeze
He was like a kite
Wherever he went, search for him!
01 :36
ham   rāhēṁ thīṁ calātī
vah xud apnī rāh banātā
girtā, saṁbhltā,
mastī mēṁ caltā thā vah
While we used to follow conventionalisms
he used to build his own way
He used to tumble, then set himself right,
then keep walking in ecstasy
01 :50
ham  kal  fikr satātī
vah bas āj  jaśn
manātā
har lamhē  khulkē jītā thā vah
The anxiety of tomorrow used to trouble us,
he solely used to observe
the celebration of today
He used to go freely at every moment
02 :04
kahām̐  āyā thā vah
chū  hamārē dil
kahām̐ gayā, usē ḍhūm̐ḍhō!
From wherever he had come
having touched our heart,
wherever he went, search for him!
02 :51
sulgtī dhūp mēṁ chāōṁ  jaisā
rēgistān mēṁ gām̐v  jaisā
man  ghāv  marham jaisā thā vah
He was like a shade in the burning sun,
and like a village in the middle of the desert
He was like balm on a wound of the heart
03 :05
ham sahmē  rahtē kuēm̐ mēṁ
vah nadiyā mēṁ gōtē lagātā
ulṭī dhārā cīr
tairtā thā vah
We used to remain, like frightened, in a well,
He used to dive headfirst in brooks
He used to swim
having cleft against the current
03 :19
bādal āvārā thā vah
yār hamārā thā
kahām̐ gayā, usē ḍhūm̐ḍhō!
He was a wandering cloud
He was our companion
Wherever he went, search for him!
03 :36
ham

vah xud apnī rāh bantā
girtā, saṁbhāltā,
mastī mēṁ caltā thā vah
While we used to follow conventionalisms
He used to build his own way
He used to tumble, then set himself right,
then keep walking in ecstasy
03 :50
ham  kal  fikr satātī
vah bas āj  jaśn

har lamhē  khulkē jītā thā vah
The anxiety of tomorrow used to trouble us,
he solely used to observe
the celebration of today
He used to go freely at every moment
04 :04
kahām̐  āyā thā vah
chū  hamārē dil
kahām̐ gayā, usē ḍhūm̐ḍhō!
From wherever he had come
having touched our heart,
wherever he went, search for him!
