Tu, Tu Hai Wahi (Hindi:तू, तू है वही, Urdu: تُو, تُو ہے وُہی) is a song from the 1982 Hindi Film "Ye Vaada Rahta". The real title of the song is also Ye Vaada Rahta (Hindi: यह वादा रहा, Urdu: یہ وعدہ رہا) "This is a (standing/remaining) promise!", but tū, tū hai vahī are the starting words of the chorus.

The movie is about a wealthy heir called Vikram (played by the Indian actor Rishi Kapoor) who meets a singer called Sunita (played by the Indian actress Poonam Dhillon). They fall in love but soon after they suffer a car accident and Sunita is disfigured.

Thinking she is dead, VIkram remakes his life with another woman, Rita (played by the Indian actress Sarika Thakur, also known as simply "Sarika").

Sunita undergoes plastic surgery and reconnects with Vikram concealing her identity. He doesn't recognize her at first, and she doesn't confront him. (For the remainder of the movie, the changed Sunita is played by the Indian actress Tina Munim).

In the video clip, Vikram and Rita are shown enjoying domestic happiness and singing, while Sunita listens to the song crying in the background. The song Vikram and Rita sing is precisely "Ye Vaada Rahta", the same song Sunita was singing the day she met Vikram.
The title of the song also symbolizes the promise Vikram had originally made to Sunita to never be separated from her.

The actual playback singers are the legendary Bollywood singers Kishore Kumar and Asha Bhosle for the male and female parts respectively.
The music was composed by the famous Indian director and composer Rahul Dev Burman (R.D. Burman), who used to work in close association with these two singers (Asha Bhosle was also his wife).

The lyrics were written by the Indian songwriter and actor Gulshan Kumar Mehta, also known as Gulshan "Bawra" (the Mad).
