I didn't see anyone so beautiful,
any images of Ajanta like (her) body,
any daybreak enchantment
in my vision like (her) body,
(her) body, any melody,
(her) body, any fragrance
Such a body is a perfuming moonlight
Such a body is a persisting ragini
Such a body that is a flowering garden
Such a body that is a sun's first ray
(Her) sculpted body,
heart-alluring, oh, heart-fascinating!
Like sandalwood, like sandalwood
Like marble, like marble

A description of the beauty of my beloved
is impossible
[both lines x2]
Praise! Praise! [x2]
If you saw (her), you would say it too, companion
Praise! Praise! [x2]
A description of the beauty of my beloved
is impossible

I wonder how you tied
the bonds of (between our) eyes?
My mind continued to be drawn towards you
The dawn of my face, the dusk of my tresses,
everything that is dear to me,
is, from now on, your name!
Your sight touched mine,
and this was a charm,
I have begun to be beautiful

(Her) face is fresh as a flower
Is it her face or some moon?
(Her) face is like a ghazal,
(her) face, an ode to life.
(Her) face is like a bud, her face is like a lotus
(Her) face is both the picturing (in mind)
and the picture.
(Her) face is also a dream,
and also (its) interpretation.
(Her) face is some tale of Arabian Nights
(Her) face is one moment certainty,
(her) face is another moment doubt
It is such a face,
that there is absolutely no (such) face anywhere
A moonlike face (beautiful) [x2],
A moonlike forehead (beautiful) [x2]
